The Squirrel didn't give up. The squirrel was trying to help Lord Rama, when the squirrel came in the way of monkey. The monkey was angry and one of them picked up the squirrel and threw her away. The squirrel fell into the arms of Lord Rama. Lord Rama gently rubs his fingers over the squirrel's back and puts him down. The three white stripes that we see on the back of the squirrel are believed to be the marks of Lord Rama's finger on the back of the squirrel.
