The monkeys were asked to build a bridge over the sea. This was asked to them by Rama. They worked hard by carrying big rocks from the mountains to the sea. The squirrel saw this and he also wanted to help them. He started to carry small pebbles in his mouth. He could only fit a few pebbles in his small mouth.
Seeing this, the monkeys teased him saying that there was no use of the pebbles that he had brought and warned him to return back. But due his dedication and faith, the squirrel continued his work. This time the monkeys lost their temper and took him by his tail and threw him away.
