mrs. dorling was an extremely rude person that can well judged by the way she treated the narrator  . she faked the complete ignorance when asked if she recognised  the narrator. she was extremely unwilling to strike a polite decent conversation with the narrator.

Mrs dorling try to avoid narrator because all the things in the house was not her all the things of narrator and her mother like clock and crokary plates infect the green cardigal she wear that was also of narrators mother
Mrs dorling open the door partially which show she was not welcoming to narrator .
