The Muslim community disliked the British rulers because of the following reason.
After the first world war it went to the degradation of the Ottoman Empire in turkey. The allied forces claimed that the Ottoman Empire KHALIFA was responsible for the war. Khalifa was also the religious leader of the Muslims.
Also there were rumours that a harsh treaty was signed to Khalifa. In order to remove the temporal powers of Khalifa a khilafat commission was made.
This was the reason why the Muslims hated the British rulers.
