The story The Address is all about human predicament that follows war. The story narrates how a daughter goes to her native place in Holland in search of her mother's belongings after the war.

Mrs S's daughter waited for a very long time before going to Number 46, Marconi Street because she did not want to and was least bothered about collecting the old stuff. She was naturally rather afraid of it. She did not want to dig in the past with which existed no connection at all.
