The owls liked the narrator's grandmother because many people thought that owls are bad to keep at home. In the houses where the owls are kept they suffers a lot, there is always a death in the family. But the grandmother took very good care of the owls, feeded them properly, gave them love and kept them as a part of the family. The grandmother thought that the owls ate all the small insects. And it's a better way to keep the house insect free.
