The Patriot felt that he was safer with God and not the Public because the public were frivolous and fickle minded and had turned on the patriot. He also says that he owes nothing to God and God does not hold any grudges against him so he is sure to go to heaven.

The Patriot believed in God and felt that he is safe with God than with public. One year ago he was welcomed with accolades and in the current year he is going with humiliation. According to him he was the one who fetched sun(powers) for the common folks and now they have forgotten about that so easily. The Patriot further articulates that he will definitely get the reward and when he was going to die he felt safer as he would go to heaven and would be rewarded by the God itself.
