Generally, the peasants of Bengal Revolt were against the Indigo planters because the indigo planters persuaded the peasants to plant indigo instead of food crops.
As well as went into revolt because the planters forced the peasants to produce indigo which was in huge demand in Britain.
The cultivation of Indigo sucked up all the nutrients from the soil and left it unfit for further cultivation.
