Since very early times Deva Daru or the Deodar (Cedrus deodara) is considered as the abode of gods, may be because of the lofty, awe inspiring height the tree attains. ... Like the worship of Deodars, many trees are worshipped mainly because of the belief that spirits and deities dwell in them.
