When the poet and her mother were driving to the airport, the poet looks at the face of her mother. She feels that her mother has been aged and that one day she would die. She compared her mother's face to that of the 'later winter's moon' and to a corpse. She analyses that her mother had grown old. The strength, energy and the liveliness of her mother had faded away with time.
