The poet never dared to ignore her mother’s instructions as her mother was very strict and the poet was scared of her.

EXPLANATION:

‘Mother and the Mouse’ is a humorous children’s poem by Faith Trekson. The poem is all about the poet’s mother who was a sturdy and very strict lady. She had very big and bright eyes with which she could fix up her daughter.

Her daughter, the poet, was very afraid of her and so whenever her mother gave her any instructions she followed them blindly. She never dared to disobey her because she knew that if she did she would have to face her mother’s wrath.
