But actually the choice made by later became the cause of regret for him. His choice of taking the first road made him unhappy

He rejected the first road thinking that it was used by everyone and was a bit less attractive. Then he chose the second which was looking very alluring and beautiful. It was lone less used. Though he is happy at last but regrets the fact that he couldn't choose the other one.
