The poet choose other road bcoz it was travelled by less people .He wanted to do those activities which had not been done by anyone earlier .The poet didn't seem to be interested in choosing a much trodden path of life. Avoiding the same popular rat-race, he opted for the option that broke fresh ground.

The Poet choose the road that wanted wear and was less traveled by because the other road seemed like a constant road, chosen by almost everybody who followed that path. The poet wanted to be different from others in his life, and that is what made him choose the other road.
