The Provisional Govt. replaced the tsar's govt. that collapsed during the revolution in March 1917. There was many reason by which provisional govt. became unpopular:
1. The provisional govt. did little to deal with its opponents.
2. They shared the power with Petrograd Soviet.
3. Provisional Govt. did nothing to stop the war.
4. Provisional Govt. was unable to end the shotage of food and fuel.
