The Independence struggle of India saw people of various thoughts coming together to achieve independence; among these, the two, the Moderators and the Radicals were the most important groups. The Radicals involved those who opposed the melodious attitude of the Moderates to the Colonial government and believed in the radical overthrow of the colonial government. Whereas, the Moderates group involved those who wanted a peaceful transfer of the power by employing the non-violence means of demonstration. Thus, the soft attitude of the Moderates towards the British made an afflicted organization within Congress to describe them as “Political Beggars’. As the Radicals believed, they were bagging for independence.
