The rebels had no centralised planning or coordinated plans and also they failed to capitalise on their gains.

The Indians fought with their outdated weapons against the sophisticated British weapons.

Also, the newly educated Indians remained unsympathetic to the revolt and many of them showed compassion and Goodwill towards the British and felt that they were required for India's progress.
