Gurjara Pratiharas ( Gujrat and Rajasthan ) ,Palas ( Bengal ) and Rashtrakutas (Western Deccan ) were the dynasties who wanted to control Kanauj and the Ganga valley as the land was very fertile. This struggle is often termed as the " tripartite struggle " which led to the decline of these dynasties .
