Why did the Salt Satyagrah take place ? How did people respond it?

because at all other foods their was tax applied for them and at last salt was only thing to eat with roti without any tax thats why it took place. and all indians were very rude for it and hence they thought to take action against it and it became a satyagrah under gandhiji's leadership.
