Answer:

French businessmen believed that it was thier right to keep slaves to work in their land.

However, after the fall of the Bourbon Dynasty, the Convention passed laws to abolish laws to abolish slavery. Slavery was reintroduced by Napolean to gain support of the businessmen. Finally after a long struggle slavery was abolished in French colonies in 1848
