Why did the the mughal emperor bahadur shah zafar was arrested and his two sons were publicly executed by the british?

as at their time british came to rule over India. so they don't want that king would be there .so they arrested Bahadur shah zafar

Bahadur Shah Zafar was arrested and his two sons were killed by the British as they tried to support the revolt of 1857 that was against the British Rule.

He also had a coin with his emblem which the British army did not like and found it as an instrument of ignoring the British supremacy.
