Why did the tiger lie down flat on the earth after it saw the goat?

Because after waiting a little, the tiger came, saw the tied up goat and lay down on the ground. At that position, Mrs Packletide fired a shoot from her rifle and tiger fell down to one side.

The old tiger's death was actually caused by heart failure due to the sudden loud sound of the gun.

As soon as the tiger started to approach the prey , Miss Mebbin got excited and said "if the goat remained unharmed you need not to pay it" and asked Mrs.Packletide to go for the aim of killing the tiger .

Mr.Packletide aimed at her prey and fired the gun shot . The tiger lay flat on the ground .

The tiger lie down flat on the earth after it saw the goat because it was old and sudden gun shot made the tiger die due t heart attack .
