The wolf and the crane is a famous short story.

The wolf had a bone stuck in his throat as he had feasted on a lamb. He was not able to remove the bone by himself and it prevented him from eating anything. The wolf had asked all the animals he knew to help him, but none could do so.

The wolf's reward to Mrs. Crane

- Finally one day he met the crane who was a doctor and requested Mrs. Crane to remove the bone from his throat.

- Mrs. Crane was afraid of the Wolf and hesitated.

- So the wolf offered a big reward to Mrs. Crane if she could remove the bone from the wolf's throat.

A Wolf had been delightfully eating when a bone stuck crosswise in his throat. He was unable to move it up or down and as a result could not eat a thing.

So he hurriedly went to the Crane as he was sure that with her long neck and bill she would easily be able to reach the bone and pull it out. The wolf assured the crane of a handsome reward for this work.
