in early 18th century. the wool and silk producer found themselves unable to compete with indian textiles. they wanted to secure market within the country by preventing entry of Indian textiles.
so they protested

in the early 18th centry great protest was seen against import of Indian textiles since these competed with the European textiles and European textile producers had a fear of the decline in the sale of their products
