Because the britishers started their trade company like a general company but later it took over the governance of Bengal.The main of the British was to further their own profits as a result they bought the toys at a lower price but sold them in Europe and England in high prices.
In other hand they sold their country's toys in India which were very advanced as compared to Indian toys.
