Why did women become centre to the reform movement?

It is because women were given a setback since the very beginning.So inorder for our country to progress,it had become mandatory to uplift the status of women..because it is the women(mother) who is a child's first teacher..so if reforms are brought concerning women the whole of the country would be reformed in itself.
