I ran away from home when I was 12 years old. I had few runaway episodes through my childhood and adolescence starting when I was just 4 years old. Thankfully I was found by a nice lady who asked me for my name and brought me home. We lived in a small village where everyone kind knows everyone in the surrounding area.
When my family and I moved to Kyi.v , running away obviously brought on more danger and risk. At first , I’d runaway and return home when it was getting dark. All it took is one time to make it different and not possible to come back home.
Before going into details, I want to disclose that I come from a highly dysfunctional family where sexual, physical and psychological abuse occurred more often than not. My father was and still is an alcohol dependent tyrant. My mother is emotionally withdrawn and depended on him. My father sexually abused me since I was a pretty much toddler. My mother allowed it and at times enabled it. At times, my father exchanged me to get money to support his habit. I was brutally sexu.ally assaulted by a stranger he brought into our house when I was 10/11.
So, I remember running away once again and I came across these 2 young men who were hanging out in a secluded area.
