Why didn't natural selection lead to evolution of totally harmless parasites??

Parasitic relationships : Yes, we can certainly think of quite a few. Mosquitos, leeches, leeches that swim up your genitals and suck your blood, worms that grow inside of you and suck out your life force, the average teenager… all are absolutely useless to their relevant hosts and in fact seek to take without giving back.
In that sense, there is no such thing as a harmless parasitic relationship, by the very definition of parasitic. There are commensalistic relationships, and that's about it.
First of all, if an organism (parasite) is able to derive benefit without harming the host, it would be considered commensalism the very instant instead of parasitism.
Secondly, since nature has various methods to keep different organism populations in check, it is also one such method, and a parasite not harming the host would not fulfill the nature’s task.
Third, if the given organism is a parasite, then it is supposed to derive nutrition from the host, and that is not possible without affecting the actual functioning of the host's system.
