why diesel operated engine cannot be converted into CNG operated ?

CNG and petrol requires spark to ignite the fuel ,where as diesel don't require any spark to ignitation . Diesel combustion take place by means of compression of air . .... as a result CNG system cannot be used in diesel engine because in diesel engine spark plug is not present.
