Why digestion of food from plant source takes alonger time as compared to animal food

Plant cell contains cell wall where as animal cell don't contain cell wall.
Cell wall of plants are made up of cellulose which can be digested in the presence of enzyme cellulase.
Unfortunately humans lack the enzyme cellulase and thus it's quite a bit difficult to digest plant cells.
