Why dil . H2so4 is used instead of dil.Hcl to perform the test for acid analysis?

Dil. HCl is weaker acid and thus it will not react with all anions.But conc. H2SO4 is a strong acid that reacts with all acids .In qualitative analysis we want to identify the anions and by proceeding step wise , we may rule out the anions that react with both acids if the anion reacts with HCl and vice versa.
