Dipole moment of CO2 and CCl4 is Zero because

Explanation: In CO2 (Linear Structure), 2 oxygen atoms lie linearly to carbon (the central atom) and their orientation is in such a way that they make 180° with Carbon atom on both sides. Hence, this results in cancelling of dipole moment due to which they have Zero dipole moment.

Similiarly in CCl4 , its structure is tetrahedral with carbon as its central atom and 4 Chlorine atoms surrounding it making an angle of 109.4°. Hence, cancellation of dipole takes place as every Chlorine atom is in same and oppoaite direction. Hence, it has Zero dipole too.
