Displacement reaction - a reaction in which a more reactive metal displaces a less reactive metal

Example - Fe + CuSO4 --> FeSO4 + Cu

Double displacement reaction - reaction in which mutual exchange of ions takes place between the respective reactants.

Example - Na2SO4 + BaCl2 --> BaSO4 + NaCl

\large\sf\green{Displacement\:Reaction:-}

Those reactions in which is more reactive element displaces with less reactive elements from its compound. Such reaction is called as displacement reaction.

Ex- Fe + CuSO4 \longrightarrow FeSO4 +Cu

\large\sf\purple{Double\:Displacement\:Reaction:-}

The reaction to which there is exchange of ions between the reactants are called as double displacement reaction.

Ex- Na2SO4 + BaCl2 \longrightarrow BaSO4 + 2NaCl
