The distribution of population is majorly dependent on the climatic conditions and availablity of natural resources.

As a setter would always prefer to accommodate a well connected area which is easily possible when the area is plain. Also, if the area is hilly, and snow covered, less possibility of trade is possible there, and , there would be very less people willing to settle in perennial water logged regions or where, there is continuously raining, or harsh sun above.
