why DNA acts as better genetic material

DNA double helix is more stable than an RNA double helix as unlike RNA it lacks a reactive -OH at C2. DNA contains Thymine, which is basically methylated Uracil. This adds to the stability as the Uracil group in the RNA is way more reactive.

the 1950s, Alfred Hershey and Martha Chase did experiments with viruses and bacteria. Viruses are not made of cells. They are basically DNAinside a protein coat. To reproduce, a virus must insert its own genetic material into a cell (such as a bacterium).
