why dna is called polynucleotide

it has multiple nucleotides , hence it is called polynucleotide..... a nucleotide is a bond between nitrogen base , phosphate and carbon compound

Nucleotides are units of DNA. A number of nucleotides joined by phosphodiester bonds form a strand of DNA. Hence DNA is a polynucleotide.
