on applying pressure, we decrease the melting point of ice. thus the portion of ice which is in contact with the other portion starts melting (forms water). when we release the pressure, we again increase the melting point of ice. thus all the water which lied between the two cubes, converts to ice back therefore, joining both of them.

1. When crushed ice is pressed, its melting point is lowered and some ice melts to form water.
2. When pressure is released, the melting point becomes normal and the water freezes to form ice forming a lump. Hence, the ice cubes get joined together.
Hope it helps!
