why do a car have the greatest ability to accelerate when it is moving slow

the car accelerates if you push the accelerator. In fact, a car accelerates whenever its velocity is changed by either changing the speed or the direction of the car's motion. So, even if you are driving your car at a constant speed while turning around a corner, you are still accelerating.

If a car is moving slow then it can accelerate more quickly or in a sense stop more quickly. why? Because acceleration doesn't only mean increasing velocity. Acceleration means the rate at which the velocity is changing. hence the car car slow down or in a sense deaccelerate. Also one more reason can be If the car is on a hill it will quickly come to motion if pushed while a car in speed will also accelerate but at a lesser rate.
