2. The area is sparse and the soil is not as fertile as it is in plains, thus agricultural production is less.

a-) Plains are generally flat and level land ,having alluvial deposits.
b-) The plains have better cilmatic condition which is suitable for human life and in the plains their are better accessibility of other resources also.
c-) The plains are formed by the deposits brought by different rivers such as brahmaputra ,indus,ganges and their tributaries.These river plains provides fertile land for cultivation.
