Acids do not show acidic behaviour in the absence of water because of dissociation of H+ ions from an acid occurs in the presence
of water only . It is hydrogen ions that are responsible for the acidic behaviour...✌️

the acids show acidic behaviour due to the presence of hydrogen ion .. with absence of water they don't show because hydrogen ion don't get produced without water....
