Why do acids not ahow behaviour in the basence of water?​​

The acidic behaviour of the acids due to the presence of hydrogen ions,H+ ions. The acids produce hydrogen ions only on dissolving in water.In the absence of water, acids do not produce hydrogen ions and hence do not show acidic behaviour.
