Why do acids not shoe acidic behavior in the absence of water

acidic nature is due to the ions the acids ionize in the water which makes them acidic in the absence of water they can not ionize

acids do not show acidic behaviour in the absence of water because acids are not able to dissociate H positive ions in the absence of water. hence due to not proper dissociation of hydrogen ion acids do not show acidic behaviour
