Because the acid needs to ionise and release H+ ions to show acidic behavior.... As u know acidic behavior is due to H+ ion..

In absence of water they are unable to ionise....

Is it helpful?

The acidic behaviour of acid is due to the presence of hydrogen ions. The acid will not show its acidic behaviour in the absence of water, this is because the acid produces hydrogen ions only in the presence of water plZzzz mark as brainliest
