Why do acids not shows acidic behaviour in absence of water

Because in dry form,they do not have Hydronium(H+) ions.

Answer:

the acids show acidic behaviour  due to the presence of hydrogen ion .. with absence of water they don't show because hydrogen ion don't get produced without water....
