Alcohols have higher boiling point than alkanes due to the intermolecular hydrogen bonding in alcohols.

Why alcohol have higher boiling point than corresponding alkanes?

Because Hydrogen bonds are much stronger than these.

Therefore, more energy is required to separate alcohol molecules than to separate alkane molecules.
