The period of revolution depends on the distance from the Sun. This relationship is called Kepler's third law of planetary motion. Since the planets are at different distances from the Sun , their periods of revolution are also different.Mercury being the closest to the Sun has the least period of 88 days while the dwarf planet Pluto which is the farthest has a period of about 248 years !
