Androecium is the male part of a flower and gynoecium is the female part of a flower.Androecium and gynoecium of a flower mature at different times so that self pollination can be avoided.

  • In the autogamy method of self pollination , pollen grains are transferred to the stigma of the same flower.
  • In Deitonogamy, pollen grains from anther of one flower get transferred to stigma of another flower in the same flowering plant.
