Why do androecium and gynoecium of same flower matches at different time?

The shorter amount of time between pollination and fertilization allows angiosperms to produce seeds earlier after pollination than gymnosperm providing angiosperms a distinct evolutionary advantage. The closed carpel of angiosperms also allows adaptations to specialized pollination syndromes and controls.
