Animals live in different habitats because of different adaptations.

  • Each organism has specific characteristics which make it favorable to live in a certain kind of environment.
  • In order to survive, an organism needs to adapt to its environment.
  • Various factors, such as temperature, predators, trees, sunlight, food availability etc are contributing factors in deciding which habitat suits which organism.
  • For example, a camel is best suited to live in a desert habitat based on its adaptations whereas a whale is suited to live in the ocean based on its adaptation.
