Because there is zero gravity in space so there is no influence of any celestial body on the astronaut thus, the astronauts float freely in space.

is this question confusing you?
don't worry sis.
the space is free from gravity that is why they float in air.
now what is gravity?
gravity is a force or a pull that an object experiences. it is like attraction towards something.
why doesn't gravity exist in space?
it actually does exist when we are in certain range of planet or star.
but when we get out of that range, we are going to float in space.

hope it helps :)
