because aquatic animals have shortage of oxygen
terrestrial animals are getting oxygen from atmosphere with the concentration of 21%but aquatic animals have concentration of oxygen only 5to6%in water so if we inhale 100ml of air we are getting 21ml of oxygen but aquatic animals are getting oxygen only 6% from one inhalation therefore to fulfill the oxygen requirements they breath. faster
